Maybe I’m just not in the loop, but I’ve honestly never heard of QIdeas.org. As best I can tell from a brief look, they seem to be the TED of Christian thought on how to redeem entire cultures. This is an excerpt from their site:
Q was birthed out of Gabe Lyons’ vision to see Christians, especially leaders, recover a vision for their historic responsibility to renew and restore cultures. Inspired by Chuck Colson’s statement, “Christians are called to redeem entire cultures, not just individuals,” Gabe set out to reintroduce Christians to what had seemed missing in recent decades from an American expression of Christian faithfulness; valuing both personal and cultural renewal, not one over the other.
It looks like a pretty phenomenal organization that I will definitely be checking into further.
If you follow Lecrae very closely at all then you know that engaging culture is not just a back burner goal of his, but perhaps the main mission. With the racial tension our country has been facing, that mission has now taken the form of exploring how Christians can and should engage in the process of racial reconciliation. This interview is packed full of good discussion on that topic.
“They wanted me to keep the peace and I’m more concerned with making peace…making peace causes us to disrupt some things. Keeping peace causes us to put a lid on things and let it kind of dissipate.” – Lecrae
