Yes they are both rappers signed to Humble Beast, but almost everyone who follows either Propaganda or Sho Baraka come to appreciate them for so much more. They share wisdom, they are devoted to truth, and they have unique perspectives that should be heard.
In a way, that’s exactly what this conversation is about. While I’m sure both of them are fine with, or even proud of being known as rappers, I’m also sure they don’t want to be known only as rappers. They begin the conversation by talking about the political identity structure we have established in the US. Maybe you’re like me, and at this very moment you find it very difficult to want to associate yourself with either political party, much less have your entire identity wrapped up in being a republican or democrat. As a Christian, I want to be known as a follower of my Savior more than anything, and I can’t imagine that identity ever fitting any political mold.
So then there’s the priceless question—what do we do? It starts with realizing the problems within our current system, and as you will see in the video, these brothers are thinking of a bigger picture than a flawed two-party system.
