Eminem Rips Trump in BET Hip-Hop Awards Freestyle

This is interesting. In addition to touching on race, politics, the NFL and gun control, Marshall Mathers, in a pre-recorded video aired at the 2017 BET Awards, aimed his bars straight at President Trump. This is an important piece of cultural and artistic political commentary.

GrowTheHeckUp is a Christian platform through and through; however, many professed Christians are using the Bible scriptures about respecting leaders and authority to excuse and remain silent about all kinds of anti-bible attitudes, perspectives and behaviors coming out of the Trump administration. In some of these cases, it’s the equivalent of excusing an abusive spouse and telling the battered wife that the Bible says for her to honor her husband.

It’s the equivalent of letting an abusive parent off the hook and telling the child that the Bible says to honor your mother and father. I’ll keep the commentary to a minimum, but given the fact that Eminem is white, a rapper and cultural icon, I’ll be interested to see what kind of responses ensue. I try not to think in a vacuum.

Em gave a nod to Hillary, but I couldn’t bring myself to vote for her either. I doubt my political philosophy and worldview lines up w/ Eminem’s or The BET Awards, but I appreciate someone of influence in the hip-hop community standing up to President Trump. Remember to pray for the President, and for those he attacks. We’re praying for Eminem as well. Peace and love to all. Let us know what you think in the comments.
